The man behind the Zone
He did not come to sport from the outside.
A passionate cricketer in Pakistan's deaf cricket community, Syed Muhammad Kumail Kazmi represented Islamabad at domestic level before taking on a responsibility far greater than the game itself.
As General Secretary of the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association, he worked quietly and consistently to strengthen deaf cricket at both national and international level. During his tenure, in March 2024, Pakistan won the Deaf T20 World Cup in Sharjah.
Once his mission was fulfilled he stepped back, with integrity and without fanfare. Today he continues as an active player in the international squad.
For Kumail, cricket was never about titles. It was always about the love of the game.
